Rubin Haimov

Rubin Haimov was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and immigrated to the United States in 1989. Rubin attended Georgia Tech University where he was awarded a Bachelor's of Arts in Music. Rubin is not only a talented dancer, but also a talented musician playing both the keyboard and base. He started dancing at the ripe old age of sixteen. His first win as an amateur competitor at the Heritage Classic set in motion his dance career. All through college Rubin managed to find the time to continue his dance career. He has been coached by some of the finest, including Eddie Ares, Miriam Pierce, Luca Baricchi and Loraine Barry, Rosendo Fumero, Ana Lorente, Louis Van Amstel and Corky Ballas. Rubin also has an impressive list of wins including back to back World Closed Latin Pro-Am Championships in 2000 and 2001, first place in the USBC National Latin 5-Dance Championship in 2001, and winner of the 2003 World Show Dance Championship.

Rubin turned pro in 2004 and is currently teaching as an independent instructor at Academy Ballroom in Atlanta. He enjoys instilling the love of dancing into his students whether they are interested in competition or in social dancing. Rubin teaches Rhythm, Smooth, Latin and Standard to students of all levels of abilities and ages. His students have competed all throughout the country from Atlanta to California. Recently Rubin has formed a pro partnership with Danella Dutton another instructor at Academy Ballroom. He and Danella won the Pro Novice Rhythm event at the Hotlanta Dance Challenge and are in demand for shows, teaching and coaching. Rubin is presently available for lessons, coach or shows and would love to have you join his growing group of dancers.
