Nashville Ballroom Challenge & Photoshoot With Stephen Marino

Nashville Ballroom Challenge was such a success for Eddie Ares and Randy McBride. So many talented dancers there had me leaving with so much determination to get back to the studio and work even harder. One of the many great experiences I’ve had since entering the ballroom world is meeting so many amazing people. I am not just talking about those who I compete against, but the photographers, the hair stylists, the makeup artists, the judges.. I’ve only met these people this past year, but most of them have known each other for many years. It’s incredible how long these friendships last and it really shows what kind of people are in this business. Elena and I were talking on the phone last night about how blessed we are to be able to get to know these professional dancers and judges. I would have never thought I’d have the chance to sit, eat and hangout with World Champions after competitions and talk about dance and life. I always go home with so much inspiration.

The week after the Nashville Ballroom Challenge, Eddie Ares had Stephen Marino come to the studio for a photoshoot. The day was long, but so much fun. I have never done a photoshoot like that before and let me tell you something.. modeling is not as easy as it looks. It’s a whole other thing to learn for this business, but thankfully professionals were there who knew what they were doing and you better believe I was taking mental notes. Stephen took head shots as well as promotional material for Academy Ballroom. I’ve already seen some beautiful photos that will be going up in the studio, both downstairs as well as the new studio upstairs. It is going to look amazing! I am so excited how Academy Ballroom keeps growing. They are making more room for both students and teachers and I can’t wait until I am able to teach there, myself, and share my love for dance. Until then, I am looking for a partner and plan to go pro after competing at the U.S. Championships this year, but I’ll share more on that later…

I have never been so excited about my future and I believe I can speak for my family as well that they feel the same way as I do! We are counting down the days for the U.S. Championships!!
